I think of oranges and yellows and burgundy - basically the colors that the leaves would change - when I think of fall. I was thinking of trying a gradient effect on my nails so I grabbed a couple shades of orange and yellow.
{OPI Top Coat, Pure Ice Hot Tamale, OPI Hot and Spicy, Pure Ice Excuse Me}
I started with Hot Tamale as the base coat and then used the sponge to attempt to make a gradient effect on my nails.
Unfortunately the yellow didn't cover the orange, but I ended up with a cool matte look with the orange.
Since that didn't work, I went to Plan B, adding some gold (Ulta High Roller).
I like how they turned out even if it wasn't quite what I was going for. It's a fun orange color. I'm going to have to attempt doing a gradient again because it always looks cool in the pictures I see on Pinterest. :)

LOVE these colors! SOOO fall :) I have attempted the sponge gradient thing too and yea, doesn't work. Good for you for figuring out another plan!
ReplyDeleteI'll make the gradient work one of these days... and I'll be sure to share the secret when I figure it out! Ha! :)
DeleteI have had zero luck with the gradient thing, too! I don't get it. It looks so cool and yet... so unattainable haha! I love the end result and it's perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marlena!
DeleteLove this bright, bronze-y orange color! I've never tried a gradient effect, either, but I like how it subtly changed the orange on your nails and the gold over the top for an accent nail is perfect!! Awesome fall mani! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristi! :)
DeleteThat orange is perfect for fall!

Thanks! I may have to bust it out for Halloween too - it's like the perfect pumpkin orange. :)
