#MonthlyMani: St Patrick's Day

This month's mani was a fun one as I always love to do holiday themed nails! I picked up a mint colored polish a couple years ago when mint was the big "it" color and it's been one of my favorite ones to wear.

My nails are relatively simple since I'm always concerned that Madison will start crying before they are dry. Luckily she was good while I did my nails. :)  And of course I always have to add a little extra something to give it flair, so I did a shamrock on my ring finger nail.

Madison and I were twinsies today!

#MonthlyMani: Valentine's Day

This is my first post since baby girl was born.  I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already!  Time flies when you're sleepy and trying to figure everything out about having a newborn.  I promise to have a post up about her with pics soon. :)  In the meantime, this month's mani theme is Valentine's Day!

I decided to switch it up from the usual pink that I do for V-day and add some animal print.  I also opted to do this because I had some leopard stick-on nail polish - let's be honest, trying to wait for regular nail polish to dry while taking care of a demanding newborn is not a good idea. :)

{Kiss Silver, Sally Hanson Leopard gel strips, Kiss Red}

I only used the stick-on nails.  I've never tried the gel part so I'm not sure how well that works.  I added a red heart on my ring finger to make them more "Valentinesy" and because I love the way red looks with leopard.  I also loved the way the silver polish looked last time I used it so I decided to outline the heart in silver to make it pop.  I'm not sure if I like it better with or without the silver outline.

I hope you all have a fun time celebrating V-day!  Check out my post from last year for some outfit inspiration.

As always, check out the rest of the gang's nails:

#MonthlyMani: Winter Wonderland

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, especially when it comes to all of the fun holiday things that you can paint on your nails!  I decided to do snowflakes for this one.

I used 3 nail polishes for this design.  I love the skinny brushes from Kiss.  They make it easier to do designs that require more precise lines.

First I started with this gorgeous blue base color.  I've had this color forever and it always seems to be the perfect shade for winter themed nails.

Next, I started the intricate snowflake pattern.  First, I painted a simple star design.

Then I added a mini zigzag between the star lines, creating diamonds.

Finally, I added 2 more lines at the end of each star point to create a "fork" for the tips of the snowflake.

They look a little messy up close, but from just a little ways away they look much better. :)  I added a couple half snowflakes on my middle and pinky nails and then silver lines on my pointer and ring nails.

PS ~ This post is going live a little late because today is my birthday! Between my baby shower, birthing class and my birthday, I had too many activities going on the past few days, but I finally found some time to do my nails. :)

#MonthlyMani: Black Tie

Welcome back to the monthly edition of fun manicures!  This month's theme was black tie, aka black and white.  Once again I had to do something a little off the wall with my nails. :)  I also added a touch of red because it just goes so well with black and white.

These are the nail polishes that I used.

I started with a white base.  Honestly I wasn't too sure what the plan was for the design, and so I ended up doing a little something different on each nail.  It makes it more interesting that way, don't you agree?  Haha.  The skinny brush that came with the black polish really makes it easy to do fun designs on my nails.

I think I like my middle finger design the best.  I call it "the chicken foot" hahaha.

I added the top coat and cleaned up around the nails and there you have it!  Fun nails that surprisingly didn't take that long to do.

Be sure to take a peek at what the rest of the gang did for their black tie nails!
