Thrift Style Thursday: Boho Chic

This week's theme is Boho Chic!  That is one style that I don't really wear much to be honest (ok, more like almost never).  It always makes me think of music festivals. :)  Don't get me wrong, I think that style is beautiful, it's just never been what I would consider my type of style.  Take this dress, for example, it's absolutely gorgeous and I love the way it makes me feel when I wear it, but I'm not sure it's something I would have picked out for myself.  I love that TST gets me out of my comfort zone!  Anyways, I borrowed this dress from a friend.  That's almost like thrifting, right...?  She recently had a baby and is letting me borrow some clothes I was lusting after while she works on getting back to her pre-baby size.  (Isn't she the best?!)

St. Patty's Day Outfit Ideas

I heard on Project Runway once that they don't put green on the cover of magazines because it doesn't sell as well as other colors.  I found that interesting.  Maybe it's because we subconsciously associate it with the color of envy or being sick.  I don't really know.  I tend to think of green as a happy spring color, a welcome change after a long cold winter.  So in that respect, it's fitting that we wear green for St. Patrick's Day, which is right before the first day of spring.

PS ~ I love the ability to create outfits like these on Polyvore.  They also have an app and it's my go-to on my phone when I'm waiting somewhere with nothing to do.  I find it fun to search through the many different items they have to put together fun outfit inspirations and then try to recreate them with what I have in my own closet!
