An Old Skirt

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend!  We went camping over the weekend, and while the weather was gorgeous in Houston, it was rainy where we were northwest of Austin.  We ended up leaving a day early which was a bummer, but a flash flood warning is nothing to risk when you're camping!  Luckily it cleared up enough on Sunday afternoon for the Memorial Day festivities that they had at the park where we were staying.  It was a nice reminder of why we celebrate Memorial Day and gave us a chance to remember those that have served and are currently serving in the military.  I truly appreciate their sacrifices that allow us to have our freedoms.

Unfortunately it seemed the rain followed us home and it rained most of the day yesterday, so we stayed inside and caught up on TV shows.  It was very relaxing.

Interesting fact about this skirt: I got it back in middle school!  So let's see, that would date it to about 1997.  It's one of those pieces that I tend to forget about, but when I pull it out of my closet I'm always like why haven't I been wearing this more?!  I think I got it at Sears, and it must be decent quality because it's lasted about 17 years.  Gosh, I can't believe it's that old!

  1. OK, A. I'm impressed that you were stylish enough in middle school to pick such a timeless piece, and B. That you still fit it! I don't think I'd be caught dead in anything I wore in middle school lol

    1. Haha, thanks Miche, but I'm pretty sure it's something my mom picked out. Just about anything that was stylish and timeless from that time in my life was thanks to her picking it out. :) And if I'm being completely honest, the shirt I would always pair with it was one of those egg carton shirts (not sure what they were called but that's what they looked like) that appeared tiny but would stretch out to fit. I was totally stylin' back then! ;-)
