Bird Dress

I've been loving dresses a lot this summer and have been wearing them more often than I have in the past.  They are so effortless compared to piecing together different tops and bottoms from my closet.  I foresee this continuing the rest of the summer and into the fall.  Is it weird that I'm already looking forward to fall and sweater dresses and boots?  It's just too bad that it takes forever for us to get to that type of weather here in Texas, haha.

Ruffles

I love ruffles.  They are so cute and feminine!  When they're layered like this, they can also be very figure flattering.  Are you a fan of ruffles?

Thrift Style Thursday: Brilliant Blazers

Happy Thursday, friends!  This week's theme is the blazer.  I think this little Jackie O. style jacket that I found is considered a blazer. :)  It seemed only fitting that I wear some big Jackie O. sunglasses with it!  I found both this jacket and dress on my last thrifting trip.

My fave part about this outfit ~ it goes from work to evening out simply by removing the jacket!  I love the textured layers in this dress.

Spring Dreaming

I am in love with the floral trend that's popular right now.  It's so perfect for spring.  I also love that the days are staying lighter so much later now, even though Daylight Savings Time was difficult for me since I'm not much of a morning person.  Haha!  

This is one of my favorite dresses.  The way the skirt flows is so fun with all the ruffles.  It makes me want to sashay around. :)  Plus the floral design makes it absolutely perfect for spring.  By the way, if you are ever looking for a shrug, White House Black Market has the best ones!

Unexpected Finds

I have been struggling with the fact that I can't wear heels.  It has kind of limited my outfits, and I haven't really wanted to spend much on flats since I know I won't wear them that often once I'm cleared to wear heels again.  Like I've said before, thank goodness for cheap flats at Target.  I was afraid of missing boot season though (one of my fave things to wear during the fall and winter).  A couple months ago I was with my hubby at Bass Pro Shop to look at manly things and I happened to notice these boots on sale for $25!  What a steal!  I love unexpected finds like this.  Who knew Bass Pro Shop sold cute shoes?  (I also scored a lovely pair of striped flats.)  That's what I love about fashion.  You can find great pieces when you least expect it.
